SoccerBoy, né Takashi Otagiri, is the Tokyo-based DJ whose style is defined as “trying to do cool tricks on the decks and failing 69% of the time,” which is what all the 2manyDJs-wannabe kids are into these days OBVIOUSLY.
On August 1st, his first official (read: non-bootleg) mixtape, My Dear Horse, hits “Dansu&Souru” stands at HMVs in Japan – not available at Tower, sorry Tower, nice knowing you. Also just unveiled is Sucker Bombaclaat vol.1.3, the latest entry in his highly popular (read: bootleg) mixtape series; it’s available at boutique record shops throughout Japan, and at very exclusive sections of the internet.
In addition to DJing and being exclusive, SoccerBoy heads the record label Tokyo Fun Party, home to such party-murderers as Digiki and Chimidoro.
Tragically, his cripplingly expensive addiction to buying old rock’n’roll T-shirts off of eBay has forced him to keep a full-time suit-and-tie (read: official) job in addition to his partying duties. SoccerBoy is a fun guy to party with! So much fun that maybe it’s a good idea if he plays outside the country for a bit, you dig?
